Nigeria midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is a huge doubt for the Super Eagles' 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier playoff against Ghana.
Ndidi picked up a knock in Leicester City's 2-1 loss to Stade Rennes in the round of 16 of the UEFA Conference League on Thursday at the Roazhon Park, forcing him to be substituted.
The 25-year-old limped off in the 60th minute of the game and was replaced by James Maddison as the Foxes advanced to the next stage of the competition despite a defeat on the night.
Leicester are yet to reveal the degree of Ndidi'ss injury but reports indicate the midfielder has a setback in his knee, which could see him miss out on the first leg of Nigeria's game against Ghana in the qualifier.
Considering his importance for his national team, Ndidi's injury will be a huge blow for the Super Eagles, who are looking to beat the Black Stars for a spot at the mundial later this year.
The first leg comes off on Friday, March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium with the reverse encounter taking place four days later at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
