Bechem United midfielder Noah Martey says he is not perturbed for not making the 24-man provisional U-20 squad for next month’s African Youth Championship in Senegal.
The 19-year old who has been on blistering form in the First Capital Plus Premier League for Bechem United after becoming the first player to score in four consecutive matches was surprisingly dropped by coach Sellas Tetteh.
Martey has so far scored five goals in the premier league but says he is not worried for not making the cut.
“I’m not worried at all because I know my time will definitely come,” he told Joy Sports.
“Although I am doing well and I would have loved to be part of the team I just have to take it cool and pray because I know if one door closes another opens.
“I wish the team all the best and I know equally good players were selected to do well at the tournament.”
The Ghana team will be playing friendlies in the next fortnight before the games begin in March.
