The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Omane Aboagye, has inspected work on a section of the Kubease-Nkyerepoaso road in the Juaben Municipality.
The inspection, according to the MCE, was to access first-hand information about the progress of work.
Mr. Omane Aboagye, after the inspection, advised the contractor working on the project to desist from doing shoddy work but ensure the building of durable roads that will stand the test of time.
He also charged project consultant as well as Assembly Members to effectively monitor the project and ensure quality materials are used to meet its expected life span.
The MCE said the 21-kilometre road is considered as one of the key projects because it connects to major cocoa growing communities in the municipality.
The road, when completed, would connect Kubease-Nkyerepoaso route to Juaben to help ease heavy traffic on the Kubease-Anita Hotel junction.
This, he said is also expected to help farmers on that route to transport their produce to the market centre.
Explaining the progress of the work on the road, the Project Foreman at Prestige Company Limited, Anthony Sarfo, assured the MCE of using quality materials for the project.
He is confident to complete the road within a 12-month duration to ensure smooth commuting.
