The South Dayi Member of Parliament (MP), Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has handed over items worth GH¢60,000 to the District Education Directorate.
The items donated included; 150 dual desks, 650 bags of cement and seven packs of roofing sheets which are expected to be distributed across schools in the district.
Among other reasons, the items are to help increase access to education in the District and provide infrastructure for the schools.
Mr. Dafeamekpor explained that children in the District deserve quality education; hence, his motivation to donate the items.
According to him, the government alone cannot provide all infrastructure for schools, for which reason all must endeavour to support.
The South Dayi Education Director, Justina Ziemeh, commended the MP for the kind gesture.
She believes the donation would go a long way to improve teaching and learning in the District.
Meanwhile, the MP has also instituted self-sponsored annual mock for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the constituency.
The ‘South Dayi District Super Mock for BECE candidates’ is part of interventions being carried out by the legislator to ensure registered candidates are well prepared for the exam.
A statement issued by the District Examination Officer, Bright Mensah, noted that “the entire directorate, students and teachers are proud of you, Hon. Dafeamekpor.”
