Legendary musician and songwriter, Akosua Agyapong, has praised her late mother for her upbringing.
Speaking on EVIBES with Becky on JoyNews, Akosua Agyapong stated that her mom was strict on her and her siblings thus making them who they are today.
“She was such a hard woman. I loved my mummy. She died in 1994. We loved her because she was so hard on us. In the morning, no matter where you went to during the night, you have to wake up at 4:30 am and do your chores.
"After our evening outings and we get tired, she won’t go to work early because that will give us the chance to sleep more. She will stay around and if you have to sweep, you sweep. If you have to cook too, you do it and so we all had something doing.”
According to Akosua Agyapong, her mom made sure they never went wrong with cooking or housekeeping.
“We say thank you to her because it really helped us when we were growing. We never go wrong with cooking and housekeeping. My mom didn’t buy brown carpet. She bought cream carpet so when it’s dirty and she asks you to wash, you wash it well.
"My mom really brought us up well. She didn’t allow us go to the club so we looked for invitation cards of parties and change the dates so that she can allow us go and she will tell us to be awake by 4:30 am.”
