With a five-point cushion at the top the First Capital Plus Premier League table, Ash Gold will attempt to extend their lead when they welcome Heart of Lions to the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday.
Coming from a 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak over the weekend, Lions will be determined to cause a major upset in Obuasi and improve their own chances of leaping to second on the League table.
Hasaacas who are lying just a point below Lions, will also travel to Wa to take on 14th placed Wa Allstars in the midweek fixtures. Allstars will however hope to rely on their home advantage to secure a result that can help them push up the League log.
At the Tema Stadium, Inter Allies will seek to bounce back from the weekend setback in Essipong when they welcome B.A. United, who are rooted at the foot of the table.
After holding Champions Asante Kotoko in Kumasi over the weekend, WAFA will take on New Edubiase at the Sogakope Park.
The Match-day-9 round of games will also see last season’s League winners, Asante Kotoko go away to Berekum as guests of Chelsea.
The Porcupine warriors who have not won a League match since January 30, will hope to return to winnings after the recent string of negative results.
Chelsea, on the other hand will count on their home support and their prolific attackers to fight for all three points in the match which will be played on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, Hearts of Oak, who have found themselves mired in the relegation zone will have a chance of rising up the table if they manage to beat second-placed Aduana Stars at the Accra Stadium.
Lying ten-points away from the top of the table, Medeama will welcome Liberty Professionals to the Tarkwa T & A Park where they determined to win and get themselves closer to the top.
And to wrap up Wednesday’s matches, Great Olympics who won their last home match against BA United, will travel to face another Brong Ahafo team, Bechem United.
The weekend win took Olympics from bottom of the table to 13th whiles Bechem United moved to 10th after victory over Medeama on Sunday.
