Ghanaian international Christian Atsu’s football career has come to an unfortunate end following the announcement of his death.
The former Black Stars forward death was confirmed by this agent in the early hours of Saturday, February 18 after 12 days of being trapped under rubble when an earthquake struck the province of Turkey-Syria on February 6.
Christian Atsu was known for his charitable work and seemed to put a lot smiles on the faces of many people.
Before his demise, the 31-year-old displayed numerous skills and scored a number of breathtaking goals for both national team and his club.
The Hatayspor winger's goal which has been widely circulated on social media is his first and most recent goal scored during stoppage time which aided his side [Hatayspor] to trash Kasimpasa in a 1-0.
Following the announcement of his demise, Ghanaians and fans of the former Black Star forward have since eulogiesed him and send their heartfelt condolences to his family.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry in a press statement said that the Ghana Embassy in Turkey is working in hand with the Turkish government in making the necessary arrangements to fly the body of the former Chelsea and Newcastle winger to Ghana for burial.
