National broadcaster Ghana Television (GTV) had to cut its transmission of the 66th Independence Day celebrations in the Volta Region as its site there caught fire.
Officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are yet to make the cause of the fire known to the public.
As a result, the broadcasting of the anniversary celebration was offline for most TV viewers who count on the national broadcaster to watch the day's happenings.
National Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene to put out the fire for transmission to continue.
