Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has donated 10 laptop computers and 10 desktop computers to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to support the operations of the state broadcaster.
The donation, which was made on Tuesday, January 3, was formally received by the Director of the Television Department at GBC, Madam Naa Akushika Acquaye.

In a post on his social media platforms, Mr Afenyo-Markin said the gesture was aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the corporation, enhancing content production, and supporting GBC’s mandate of informing and educating the Ghanaian public, particularly in the digital space.
“This donation is intended to strengthen the operational capacity of GBC, enhance content production, and support the corporation’s critical mandate of informing and educating the Ghanaian public in the digital age,” he stated.

The Minority Leader noted that public broadcasting remains a vital pillar of Ghana’s democracy, adding that investments in digital tools are necessary to enable the media to adapt to evolving audience needs.
GBC officials expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely support that will contribute to improved production efficiency across the Radio, Television and Digital Departments of the corporation.
