National Democratic Congress MP for Anlo Richard Kwame Sefe has criticised his colleagues who joined the NPP Majority to pass six ministerial nominees.
Parliament on Friday approved Adansi Asokwa MP, Kobina Tahir Hammond to head the Ministry of Trade and Industry, with Dr Stephen Amoah approved as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
Abetifi MP, Brian Acheampong was also approved as the Minister of Food and Agriculture and Karaga MP, Mohammed Amin Adam, was okayed as Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
Stephen Asamoah Boateng will become the new Minister for Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs, while Osei Bonsu Amoah heads to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development as Minister of State.
The approval has caused considerable disquiet in the opposition NDC after it became evident that dozens of NDC MPs broke ranks with the party and voted for the nominees.
The voting was by secret ballot.
Reacting to the development, the Anlo MP Richard Kwame Sefe wrote: "A big SHAME to all who have betrayed our trust and made us a mockery of our followership. For whatever reason; monetary, familiarity, fraternity vows, or protest against party decisions, it is very disappointing at this critical moment of our political climate."
He feared this may cause ramifications for even innocent MPs ahead of the party's presidential and Parliamentary primaries.
"If any MP who was not involved in this treacherous and ill-motivated agenda losses his/her primary as a result of our disappointing show, I pray natural order and Justice punish them for the loss.
"In our hopeless situation, I urge God, almighty, to bless the over 90 members including my good self who stuck strictly to the party and national interest and voted massively against all the motions tabled."
