Nigerian musician Chidinma has revealed that she was once blind in the early stages of her life.
The singer in a video on YouTube said that upon her birth her eyes were unable to open, leaving her parents panicking.
She noted that her parents tried every means to get her to heal but to no avail.
“We had to resort to God, here is my mum, being a prayer warrior; she just started praying all of a sudden and started fasting from nowhere. My parents were never used to these things but had to because of the situation. And eventually, I started to see.”
Chidinma said that her mother had informed her that during those trying times, she made a deal with God. “She had promised to give me back to God, if God could help her solve that problem.”
This, she believes, played a role in why she was ‘unable to reach her full capacity’ as a singer without the God factor in her life.
“Everything that I have tried to do outside of God never really works because of that covenant. Obviously, I am a covenant child and may not have been able to function optimally to my fullest potential outside of God. I feel like God is my source and there is no way I will be able to do anything outside of him, he has to be in the equation," Chidinma noted.
