The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, on Friday, May 26, donated educational items amounting ¢242,000 to schools in the constituency.
The donation was to mark his 50th birthday anniversary.
Andrew Andrew Egyapa Mercer, who doubles the Deputy Energy Minister turned 50 on Thursday, May 25.

As a result, he was in his constituency to mark the day with teachers and students.
He donated books to the Sekondi Library, eight laptops to the best teachers, and circuit supervisors, 1,500 exercise books and pens to pupils, a printer and multipurpose photocopy machine to the Metro Education Directorate, and many others.
The lawmaker also to dined with over 1,000 pupils from selected schools in the Constituency and also supported the roofing of the Sekondi Presbyterian School with GH¢20,000.
“Fifty years is a milestone and I cherish this day so much in my life. So today I decided to celebrate with the pupils in my constituency.
“I have already made donations and I’m having a good day with the pupils. It has also come to my attention that the contractor in charge of the Presbyterian school has abandoned the project. We are working to ensure his contract is abrogated but I have provided money for roofing sheets to serve as a temporary measure whilst we work on the project,” he indicated.
