The International Labour Organization (ILO), under the Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work programme (PE4DW), has successfully facilitated a training session for delegates from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) before attending the MAGIC Fashion Trade Show in Las Vegas.Â
The MAGIC Fashion Trade Show is the world's largest garment market, and the Ghanaian delegation will be attending to learn more about investment opportunities in the textile and garment sector.
The conversation held on July 19, 2023, covered various topics including the latest trends in the textile and garment industry, Ghana's production capacity and product quality, the requirements of potential investors, and how to efficiently network and effectively promote Ghana as a destination for investment.
This aimed to equip the delegates with all the relevant textile and garment industry information to get the best out of the Fashion Trade Show.
The MAGIC Fashion Trade Show is a crucial opportunity for Ghana to showcase its potential as a textile and garment industry leader. National coordinator of the Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), Nana Poquah A. Adiamah, said Ghana is a vibrant hub in the textile industry, and players in the sector have local and international expertise to compete.
The ILO says it is committed to supporting Ghana's efforts to attract investment in the textile and garment sector, one of the two industries identified for support under the PE4DW project, promoting productivity growth and job creation in the shea and textile and garment sectors.
The MAGIC Fashion Trade Show is set to begin from August 7-9, 2023, in Las Vegas.
