The newly gazetted paramount chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono region, Ampem Osagyefo Annye Amo Ampong Tabrako III, has cautioned individuals involved in the illicit sale of land in the area to halt their operation or face the necessary sanctions.
He advised people who intend to sell land within the Wenchi Traditional Area to use the appropriate legal channels in their dealings.
"All the land in Wenchi belongs to me, the paramount chief, so if anyone needs any parcel of land, they should contact my palace.
“Now, we want to do things orderly, legally, and traditionally within my traditional area with the help of everyone,’’ the paramount chief of Wenchi stressed.

Ampem Osagyefo Annye Amo Ampong Tabrako III gave the caution when the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Seidu Haruna, and some Zongo chiefs visited his palace.
The Wenchi MP was in the palace to officially introduce himself to the paramount chief after he was gazetted and sworn in as a member of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
The paramount chief of Wenchi stated that the much talked about 'Wenchi past glory' could resurrect if everyone in the area eschewed all under-dealings and became truthful.
He, however, appealed to all the people within the Wenchi Traditional Area to assist him in making Wenchi rise through development and unity.
The MP for Wenchi, Alhaji Seidu Haruna, questioned why Wenchi previously hosted some state institutions, but almost all of them have relocated to other districts.

‘‘Why has Wenchi given birth to 9 districts and municipal assemblies, but still lacks development?
“It means our chieftaincy dispute for over a decade has been the major setback, so it is time for Wenchi to rise again,'' he stated.
Mr Haruna then called on Zongo chiefs and the people of Wenchi to support the new paramount chief in every possible way to help Wenchi develop.
He said Wenchi has lost numerous opportunities due to the protracted absence of a paramount chief.
The Wenchi MP further commended the paramount chief for ascending the Wenchi throne, adding that his reign would be the most successful in the history of the area if the people rallied behind him.
He pledged to work with the paramount chief and the traditional authorities to bring development to the area.
