Black Queens head coach, Nora Hauptle, says her team faced some difficult challenges before their emphatic 7-0 win over Rwanda in their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The women’s national team began their journey to next year’s tournament with this commanding victory at the Pele Stadium in Kigali on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking after the game, Hauptle said: “It was not easy before the game, some circumstances but a good team can always deal with difficult circumstances.
“We have been ready from the first minute on the pitch. All in all, I am very satisfied but there are still little details we need to adjust.”
Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, and Princella Adubea scored to ensure Ghana ended the first half 3-0 up.
Kusi Alice, Evelyn Badu again and a brace from Achiaa Anasthesia wrapped up the 7-0 win for the Black Queens.
The first-round reverse fixture will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 26.
The Black Queens will progress to the second qualifying round when the qualifying formality is completed.
