The Judicial Service of Ghana and the Office of the Special Prosecutor have formally pledged to work together in the fight against corruption and to enforce the law and ensure fair hearings for all stakeholders within the criminal justice system.

This commitment reflects their dedication to tackling corruption and promoting transparency and accountability in Ghana.

This is contained in a joint statement by both institutions dated December 27.

It comes after the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyabeng, in the recent past lamented how the conduct of some Judges inhibits his office from successfully prosecuting politically exposed cases, a situation the OSP says spells doom for the country.

According to the release, the two institutions have noted the “important roles of the Judiciary and the Office of the Special Prosecutor in combating corruption and corruption-related activities.”

It added that they are concerned about the seriousness of problems and threats posed by corruption and corruption-related activities to our development and democracy.
