The chiefs and people of the Jaabu and Sangbana clans in the Chereponi District of the North East Region are demanding the arrest and prosecution of the Chief of Wenchike, Feme Abubakari Awuffor.
The traditional leaders are accusing him of being involved in the ongoing communal violence in the district.
The two clans allege that Chief Buuba has, over the past 24 years, masterminded and sponsored several violent clashes in Wenchike and other parts of the district.
According to them, armed men at the instance of the Wenchike chief have targeted and killed more than 15 members of the Jaabu clan, and their properties have been destroyed.
Addressing members of the North East Regional Security Council at Daambu, the Jaabu and Sangbana clans called on the authorities to ensure the safety of their members in Wenchike, while vowing to resist any further attacks.
