The wife of Andre Ayew, Yvonne, has tipped the Black Stars to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) over host nation Ivory Coast.
Yvonne, who is Ivorian, has prioritised Ghana winning the competition over the host country for her husband's sake.
The 34th edition of the continent's flagship tournament is set to kick off on Saturday, January 13, in Ivory Coast with Ghana's first game on Sunday.
Speaking to Canal Plus, Yvonne explained she wants the Black Stars to claim the trophy but will also take delight in the hosts winning the top prize.
"This year, I support Andre [Ayew]. He's in the Ghanaian team," she said when asked about the team she will be supporting.
"But, if Ivory Coast wins, I'll also be very, very, very happy," she continued.
Chris Hughton and his charges are charged to end Ghana's wait for another AFCON title having last won it in 1982.
The Black Stars are housed in Group B where they face competition from Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
Ivory Coast, who are in Group A, will come up against Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
