Ghana Music Awards USA will be engaging the media on January 19, 2024 at the Soho Restaurant.
According to Don’s Music Production, the organisers, this is to solicit feedback from the media and music industry stakeholders on the awards scheme and to suggest more effective ways of making it beneficial to the Ghanaian music industry.
In the meantime, nominations for the 6th edition slated for August 17, 2024 are opened. To qualify for nominations, songs to be filed must have been released between January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. The nominee announcement will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Black Sherif won the topmost prize, the Artiste of the Year, last year. Other winners were Camidoh, Piesie Esther and Samini.
Several artistes earned recognition in award categories such as Best Afropop Artiste, Discovery Act of the Year, Rapper of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, Male Artiste of the Year, Best Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Best Male Vocalist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, among others.
GMA-USA, since its inception, has given Ghanaian music prominence in the United States of America.
