Losing out on music’s biggest night despite having three Grammy nominations is not discouraging Nigerian musician Davido from doing what he does best.
Davido was nominated in three categories for the 2024 Grammy Awards namely, Best Global Music Performance, Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album.
However, he lost the Best African Music Performance to Tyla, Best Global Music Album to the Indo-Jazz fusion band Shakti and Best Global Music Performance to Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Zakir Hussain.
Not just Davido but other Nigerian acts including Burna Boy who had four nominations, Asake and Ayra Starr all lost on the night.

However, taking to his Twitter handle Davido assured fans he was okay with the results.
The ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker noted that he will continue to deliver good music to fans despite this loss.
Davido added that he hoped the fans, who were massively disappointed in the Recording Academy for snubbing some of Nigeria’s best acts, would also be okay.
“I just want you to feel alright. I love each and every one of you !! We Dey game!! We will continue to deliver,” he wrote.
In another post, he also congratulated South Africa’s Ayra Starr for bagging her first Grammy Award.
