As part of moves to strengthen its partnership with its Muslim patrons and also give back to the society during the holy month of Ramadan, Bank of Africa Ghana has embarked on a number of activities.

The first was a donation of assorted items to the National Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu.

A high powered delegation from the bank led by its Managing Director, Abderrahmane Belbachir donated assorted items including sejadah (praying mat), bags of rice, sugar, assorted beverage drinks, cooking oil as well as undisclosed cash amount.

The act of giving is a significant one in the month of Ramadan and the Muslim faith. Hence the bank has made it a custom to support activities of the cleric and the faith.

Managing Director of Bank of Africa, Abderrahmane Belbachir noted “Bank of Africa has a tradition of giving to the chief Imam and the Muslim community to support his activities during the month holy month of Ramadan”

Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, expressed the gratitude on behalf of the chief Imam and commended Bank of Africa for the gesture.

“We pray for the mercy of God and his blessings for the bank. From management to the workers, we pray that the blessings of the holy month shall be with the entire company and make it successful”.

One of the notable things about the Bank of Africa Ghana is its wonderful relationship with the business community.

As the bank marks the holy month of Ramadan it hosted the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Imane Ouaadil, the Moroccan community in Ghana as well as members of the Ghanaian Muslim community to an IFTAR. A dinner held to break the Muslim fast.

Abderrahmane Belbachir, MD of the bank explains that the move is not just to mark the Muslim fast but also to strengthen its relationships with its partners.

The Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Imane Ouaadil emphasised the need to give back to the community during the holy month.

“Ramadan is a time of contemplation, a time of fasting and piety.”

“It is also a time to reconnect and with family and the community to give back and care for those in need,” she opined.
