The home of Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford in Tema was burgled with cash and other valuables items stolen.
The house which is located at Michel Camp in Tema was broken into while he was away in Obuasi to attend to club duties.
The burglers made away with an mount believed to be around $3,000 and several several electronic devices.
There was no occupant in the house at the time it was broken into.
“Yes you heard right. Robbers went into our home and made away with many items including $3,000 and several cedis,” Mrs Agnes Hayford told a local station.
“I was not in the house when the incident happened. The CCTV camera of a neighbor has been activated and two suspects have been identified.
“I have informed my husband (Bashir Hayford) and he is on his way to Tema.”
Hayford is enjoying a blistering start in the Ghanaian top-flight with Ashantigold lying comfortable on top of the table.
