The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has highlighted his policy achievements under the Akufo-Addo government, asserting that he has successfully initiated 33 distinct policies.
He listed various projects and programs launched or completed under his watch in the areas of digitalization, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and finance.
Speaking in Kumasi as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region, the NPP flagbearer stressed that the current government is focused on delivering tangible results to advance Ghana's socioeconomic progression.
"If you look at the work I have done as Vice President, which is the basis for which I want you to vote for me as President, I can count about 33 policy initiatives.
"There is digitalization, one constituency - one ambulance is also there, Agenda 111 is also there. So many different policies. All these policies are working well. If you take all the Vice Presidents Ghana has had, you won't get a Vice President who has worked more than Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia," he stressed.
The NPP flagbearer further alleged that his achievements are comparatively superior to the ‘zero accomplishments’ credited to the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama.
According to Dr. Bawumia, there are no comparable major policy breakthroughs that can be attributed directly to Mr. Mahama when he served as Vice President.
"If you ask John Mahama to point out one policy he initiated as Vice President, he can't point out even one....but I have 33.
"So the score is 33 - 0. You can all admit that I have passed as a Vice President, so you must promote me to president," he said.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also assured of his commitment to serving the people of Ghana wholeheartedly should he be elected President in the upcoming election.
