The Ghana Football Association Technical Director, Prof. Joseph Kwame Mintah is confident about Ghana’s chances of dominating world football through it’s Elite Talent Identification project.
The initiative, which was launched in 2022, is to scout and nurture the brightest young talents across the nation, to form the backbone of the national teams.
Plans are set to begin with the establishment of academies to ensure no talent goes unnoticed.
“The long-term goal or target is to unearth talent, develop talent and develop the youth so that we can feed into the senior national teams,” Prof. Mintah told GhanaFAnews.
“The target is to get every region one academy so maybe in the next five, six, seven years, each region will have its academy and that's where you can assemble the best of talent for each region.
"Our target is to be in the World Cup and if possible, conquer the world."
The project includes young players between 11-14 years for both males and females.
