The founder of the Political Movement the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, pledged to build reserves when given the political mandate.
According to him, for a country to develop there is a need for strategic planning and resource management on the natural resources.
Speaking at his manifesto launch on September 1, said Ghana can not realize its vision if there are no efforts to reserve some resources for the future generation.
He stressed that "Even an ant stores food. You need to store things. You need to have reserves."
Nana Bediako well known as Cheddar, also said building reserves would not only safeguard the country from borrowing but an investment into the future of the next generation.
He argued that Ghana, with a population of 33 million, it has not adequately prepared for the challenges ahead.
Bediako questioned the country's current state of preparedness, asking, "Where is our oil reserves? Where is our gold reserves?"
"I mean, up until recently we had only 7% in our central banks… I don’t know if it’s gotten to 14% now because the last time they needed more tons just to borrow money," he said.
In this regard, Cheddar promised to establish robust reserves across critical sectors, ensuring that the country is not left vulnerable in times of need.

The Founder of the New Force explained that his vision includes not only financial reserves but also strategic reserves in essential resources such as oil and gold, which he believes are crucial for the nation's long-term sustainability.
"I want to take that first 200 tons as reserves in this country. I will do whatever it takes because I already have the gold on the ground.
"And we as the New Force, as the New Generational leaders, who are thinking with vision, we would make sure that we create the reserve for Gold and fund and money will not be a problem,” he added.
