Musician King Promise has revealed that he was unbothered by the silence from Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy to his congratulatory message on X after the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Stonebwoy did not respond to the Afrobeats artiste's congratulatory message after the awards night.
Although he explained that it was an oversight due to the numerous messages he received, the incident sparked controversy.
In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, King Promise stated that although he had won some awards, he was happy Stonebwoy won the ultimate.
“I congratulated him after the awards but was unbothered when he didn’t respond. Why would I be though? Like I said, I don't take things way too personally because people have their ways of understanding and taking things.
“I won some awards and I was grateful to God that all those things happened and the ultimate award was won by someone who's been doing this for quite a while now and is very good at what he does. I just congratulated a person because he deserved it. I don't think that should be a problem whether he replied or not”, he said on Hitz FM.
He also stated that he still relates well with Stonebwoy.
“Yeah, a hundred per cent, I mean he has me on his album, I did a song with him and then he has done a song with me as well called Hey Sexy from back in the day. We're cool like I saw the last of my songs I think we were even in Ivory Coast together, we went to see the games and it was cool vibes.
However, the musician added he never expected the issue to have escalated that much since he held no grudges with Stonebwoy.
“I feel like the whole thing just became a thing randomly, I didn't expect it to go that way where the frenzy was quite negative at a point but then in my energy, I feel positivity and truly I haven't seen him after that but I have no problem with him.
“I think he said he has no problem with me but people just try to make something out of it which is expected,” he stated.
