The Minister of Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, has officially inaugurated a new office complex for the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

The event, which took place on Friday, November 15, represents a key achievement in the government's ongoing efforts to improve the working conditions of public institutions and enhance their operational efficiency.

In his address, the Minister highlighted the government's commitment to promoting decent work and fair compensation nationwide.

He reaffirmed that the government is dedicated to creating an enabling environment that supports workers’ well-being and enhances productivity within the public sector.

The new office complex was envisioned by President Akufo-Addo, to provide the FWSC with a modern, well-equipped workspace to foster improved service delivery.

Mr Baffour-Awuah stressed that the upgraded facility would significantly enhance the Commission’s capacity to carry out its critical functions in the public sector.

The inauguration of the office complex marks a significant step forward for the FWSC, which plays a vital role in advising the government on matters relating to wage policies, salaries, and conditions of service for public sector workers.

The Minister concluded his remarks by expressing hope that the new facility would support the Commission in meeting its mandate more effectively, further contributing to the government’s broader agenda of improving public sector productivity and ensuring fair pay for all workers.

“I am confident that the new edifice will give you the self-satisfaction you need to work in an efficient and effective manner,” he said to the gathering, which included mostly workers of the Commission."

“You can have the best of office buildings, but if the service is poor, it means nothing. I want to entreat the staff to justify why the state invested in the facility,” he said.
