Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, will learn their group opponents for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with the draw set for Friday, November 22.
The event will take place at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco, where the tournament will be hosted next year.
The Black Queens qualified for the Women’s AFCON under the guidance of Nora Hauptle after missing out on the 2022 edition, with the 2020 tournament having been cancelled.
Ghana will compete against 11 other nations, including host Morocco, reigning champions South Africa, and notable teams like Nigeria, Algeria, Senegal, and Zambia.
Each nation will vie for the prestigious trophy as they prepare for the tournament.
The 2024 Women's AFCON marks the 15th edition of the tournament and will take place between July 5 and July 26, 2025.
