The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has announced an urgent upgrade to its Nuri prepayment meters.
According to the distribution company, it is part of the Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) protocol to upgrade all STS metering systems.
This mandatory upgrade aims to enhance the system’s efficiency and ensure uninterrupted vending services for customers.
In a notice on Saturday, November 23, ECG advised customers to purchase sufficient top-up credit to last at least one month to avoid potential disruptions during the upgrade process.
”Please buy enough top-up credit that will last for at least one month in order not to experience vending disruptions that might arise out of the ongoing Nuri meter upgrading exercise,” part of the notice read.
To expedite the upgrade, ECG is encouraging customers to contact its call centre or reach out via its social media platforms for assistance.
The company emphasised that the upgrade is critical and necessary to maintain a smooth and reliable service for its customers.
