President Akufo-Addo has once more asserted that the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a more desirable choice between the two main competitors in the presidential race in the upcoming general elections.
According to him, Dr Bawumia’s qualities are exceptional hence making him the best cut out to lead and position Ghana for the fourth industrial revolution.
“I genuinely believe that the two main contestants seeking office in Ghana today to be the sixth President of the Fourth Republic, he [Dr Bawumia] is a superior choice”, he said when speaking at a stakeholders' engagement in the Volta Regional capital of Ho.
He stressed that he does not doubt his capabilities after working with him for sixteen years as his running mate and Vice President, labeling him as loyal, a man of enormous intelligence, and having enormous concern for Ghana.
He chronicled how Dr Bawumia birthed and nurtured the Agenda 111 policy aiming to expand healthcare infrastructure and ensure equitable access to quality primary healthcare across the country is achieved.
He also lauded his role in the country's digitization process to prepare Ghana to meet the fourth industrial revolution.

President Akufo-Addo stressed that he would advise Ghanaians to elect someone who would not be capable of steering the affairs of the country because of the love and respect he has for Ghanaians.
He noted that the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) John Dramani Mahama was the only President in the fourth republic who could not serve for two consecutive terms because he failed the Ghanaian people.
He further indicated that apart from the late John Evans Atta Mills who died before he could complete his first term, the rest 3 had their mandates renewed because Ghanaians were satisfied with their performance in their respective first terms and hence renewed their mandates.
He said questioned Mr. Mahama’s intention to become President again, after he could not leave any legacy serving as Vice President and President.
He attributed the concept of the district assemblies to the late Jerry John Rawlings, the National Health Insurance Scheme to John Agyekum Kuffour, and the Free Senior High School Policy to himself as legacies they would be known for.
“When the name John Dramani Mahama comes out, Dumsor, Dumsor, Dumsor”, he said, adding that at the time power was transitioned to his government, the Electricity Company of Ghana was still issuing load shedding schedules.
He chastised the NDC for failing to share a roadmap of the much-touted proposed 24-Hour Economy Policy on how it would be implemented when they win power.
President Akufo-Addo completed his address by encouraging Ghanaians to vote for Dr Bawumia as he is destined to succeed him.
