On the eve of Ghana’s pivotal 2024 elections, the National Peace Council (NPC) has delivered a clear message to the nation: let’s all take our democratic responsibilities seriously.
With just hours to go until polling stations open across the country, the NPC issued a stark reminder to all Ghanaians that the peaceful conduct of the election is the responsibility of everyone – from voters and political parties to electoral management bodies and the security agencies. It cautioned that Ghana’s long-standing reputation for peace is not a given but a shared achievement.
In a new video address released this morning, four public servants at the NPC have outlined their worries about the most pressing threats to Ghana’s stability.
The spokespeople shared a message of optimism for a peaceful and transparent election, but emphasised the role required by all Ghanaians tomorrow in challenging those who seek to divide.
