A devastating fire ravaged a section of the Race Course Market in Kumasi, destroying over 30 shops.
The blaze, which started at around 1 am on Tuesday, primarily consumed metal containers and wooden shops owned by traders dealing in watermelons, grapes, and cold store operations.
The Ghana Fire Service dispatched three fire engines to battle the flames and prevent further damage. While no casualties were reported, the fire has left many traders devastated after losing their livelihoods.
The leader of the Watermelon Sellers Association, Naomi Serwaa, has appealed to the government and other philanthropists to come to their aid.
