After doing songs with Becca, the late Jewel Ackah, Amerado and King Paluta, gospel musician Joyce Blessing is looking forward to doing collaborations with more secular artistes.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, Joyce said "I want to do a collaboration with Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale", when she was asked about some of the popular secular artistes she hopes to work with.
Joyce Blessing, known for her soulful voice and uplifting melodies, said this while addressing a question that had been simmering beneath the surface of her successful career: "why does she collaborate with secular artiste?"
"No one has been bold enough to ask me why I feature people who do not sing church songs on my songs,” she said.
The question, often unspoken, hinted at a perceived clash between her gospel roots and her willingness to work with artiste who don't exclusively perform church music.
The prospect of blending Blessing's gospel sound with the distinct styles of these popular secular artistes is a fascinating one, promising a unique sonic landscape that will surely ignite considerable discussion and anticipation amongst her fans and the music industry at large.
She further noted that a gospel artiste once declined doing a song with her.
"I think I wanted a collabo from some of my colleague gospel artistes, I won't mention name [and the person turned me down].
"I think the person felt I was a competitor so he would not give me the [feature]," Joyce told Andy.
After doing a remix of her 'Overdo' with Amerado, she is currently out with a new song featuring King Paluta, titled 'Correct.'
