The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak, has lost his mother this evening.
The sad news comes on the same day the Asawase lawmaker officially assumed his role as Minister of Interior.
According to family sources, the late matriarch will be buried tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Aboabo School Park in the Ashanti Region.
The rite of passage will be in line with Islamic customs.
The passing of Mr Muntaka’s mother has cast a somber mood over his first day in his new ministerial role.
Colleagues, constituents, and well-wishers have begun sending their condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the difficult timing of the loss.
Further details about the funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family in due course.
