The Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno is concerned by the increasing attacks on mobile money vendors.
He highlighted the significant security risks faced by innocent citizens who are simply trying to earn an honest living.
Speaking at the Regional Police Commanders Conference at the Police Headquarters in Osu, COP Yohuno condemned the rise in criminal activities targeting mobile vendors.
He pointed out that these attacks have, in some cases, tragically resulted in the loss of life.
"We must adopt innovative crime-fighting strategies to end this act," the IGP stated. "Criminals are constantly finding ways to stay ahead of law enforcement, but we must be proactive in outmanoeuvring them."
He reassured the public that his administration is fully committed to addressing these security concerns.
"My administration takes public concerns seriously, and we will do everything necessary to protect citizens from such attacks," he concluded.
