Member of Parliament for Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region, Ekow Vincent Assafuah, has expressed surprise at the recent actions of the Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine.
According to Assafuah, he knows the minister "very well," and he believes this is not 'the Dr Ayine he knows.'
Mr Assafuah stated, "I am thinking that there is a certain amount of pressure from his government, from his party, to find a way to hang NPP officials and disgrace the party. I am not sure he is doing this out of his own will."
His concerns stem from Dr Ayine's recent press conference in which he addressed alleged corrupt practices carried out by former government officials during the NPP's administration.
In the press briefing on Monday, Dr Ayine outlined several corruption-related cases uncovered by the new NDC government through the President's Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative.
The operation aims to discourage corruption in the country and punish those responsible.

Notable among the cases are Kwabena Adu Boahene's alleged embezzlement of state funds and the National Service Authority's ghost names scandal.
Mr Adu Boahene's lawyers have accused the Attorney General of pronouncing their client guilty even before a court says so.
Nonetheless, Mr Assafuah says if Mr Adu Boahene is found guilty of the allegations made against him, no one in the NPP should defend him.
