Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah has reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving the conditions of service for officers and soldiers of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 12, the Minister extended hearty congratulations to the newly commissioned officers of the Regular Career Course 63 (RCC63) following their graduation parade.
“We remain committed to improving conditions of service of our officers and soldiers,” Dr Boamah emphasised, adding that the government’s agenda of Resetting Ghana includes the welfare of the men and women in uniform.
The Minister praised the new officers for choosing the path of service to the nation, acknowledging their readiness to defend Ghana even at the peril of their lives.
“We congratulate the new officers (RCC63) of the Ghana Armed Forces and wish them very well in their decision to defend our dear nation Ghana,” he said.
He also commended the Ghana Military Academy for its rigorous training, which was clearly displayed in the officers’ graduation performance, describing their synchronized drills as a testament to the quality of their instruction.
Dr Boamah noted that the new officers embody both passion for service and intellectual curiosity, values that have historically defined Ghana’s military leadership.
“RCC63 will certainly exemplify these ideals of their great and famous forebears,” he remarked.
He further highlighted the President’s reassurance during the ceremony that more infrastructure will be provided for the Academy. President Mahama noted that the Academy’s expansion is ongoing, stating,
“The Ghana Military Academy… has only undergone its first phase of expansion – awaiting a second and a third.”
In conclusion, Dr Boamah extended congratulations to the officers, their families, and the trainers who played vital roles in shaping the RCC63 cohort.
“Congratulations, RCC63 and all award winners and your gallant trainers,” he wrote. “Congratulations, happy family members and friends who joined in the joy of our new Commission Officers.”
