In a bold display of environmental stewardship, the Green Future Project of GFF will mobilise hundreds of volunteers in a Clean Up Exercise on 5 June, 2025, to commemorate the World Environment Day 2025.
The event, themed “Let's Clean Our Communities Together,” will bring together community members, schools and environmental enthusiasts to tackle pollution and restore natural beauty to urban waste hotspots in Accra and Prestea environs.
The exercise will also include planting over 500 trees to reinforcing the foundations' commitment to sustainable environmental regeneration.
According to Haggar Quao who is the Head of Community Environmental Research of the organization, World Environment Day must remind us that every individual has a role in safeguarding our planet.
She therefore emphasised the need for a year-round commitment to waste management and environmental conservation.
“The Green Future Project would continue to engage communities through clean-ups, educational programs and policy advocacy”, she said.
Each year’s celebration of World Environment Day continues to remind the people that protecting the environment is not just a duty but a shared responsibility.
