In a strategic move to enhance collaboration and boost economic growth within Ghana’s cocoa industry, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), Dr Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, has engaged leadership at OFI Food Ingredients (OFI), one of CMC’s key clients and a global cocoa powerhouse.
The high-level engagement took place at OFI’s advanced processing facility and warehouse in Kumasi, where Dr Dogbey and his team were warmly received by OFI executives. The visit featured a comprehensive tour of the facility and focused discussions aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two companies.
Dr Dogbey stressed the importance of building a resilient and prosperous cocoa supply chain through strategic partnerships, innovation, and sustainability. “As two leading entities in the cocoa sector, we have a unique opportunity to work together not only to grow our respective companies but also to contribute positively to Ghana’s economy,” he stated.

Discussions covered potential joint initiatives focused on improving product quality, leveraging technology for operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable sourcing practices. Dr Dogbey expressed admiration for OFI’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, noting the shared values between both organisations.
“We are committed to ensuring that our cocoa beans are sourced responsibly and that our farmers are supported in their endeavours,” Dr Dogbey said during the facility tour.
The visit also allowed both sides to exchange insights on emerging global market trends and shifting consumer preferences. Dr Dogbey highlighted the importance of innovation in staying competitive. “In today’s fast-paced environment, we must continuously seek new ways to enhance our products and services to remain relevant on the global stage,” he added.
OFI’s leadership welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about the prospects of a stronger partnership. “We value our relationship with CMC and recognise the vital role Ghana’s cocoa producers play in our supply chain. Together, we can drive sustainable growth and create a lasting impact in the communities we serve,” said a representative of OFI.
The engagement concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to a collaborative future underpinned by innovation, sustainability, and mutual growth. Dr Dogbey departed the facility with renewed optimism, confident that strengthened alliances such as this would advance Ghana’s vision of becoming a global leader in sustainable cocoa production.
This visit marks a pivotal step in CMC’s broader strategy to build strategic alliances with key industry players, aimed at transforming Ghana’s cocoa value chain and reinforcing the country’s role as a major force in the international cocoa market.
