Nestlé Ghana hosted its inaugural Supplier Day at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, gathering over 100 suppliers of direct and indirect materials.
The event, themed "Procurement in the 21st Century: The Importance of Collaboration for a Mutual Win and Growth,” aimed to enhance partnerships and promote sustainable practices.
In her opening remarks, Salome Azevedo, incoming Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana Ltd., emphasised the need for robust partnerships to drive innovative solutions and enhance sustainability.

Nestor Finalo, Regional Supply Chain Director for the Central and West Africa Region, highlighted the transformative power of collaboration, noting that success in today's market relies on working together, with innovation and sustainability as key cornerstones.

Deborah Kwablah, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Nestlé Ghana, set the tone for Sustainability, Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) panel discussion by showcasing Nestlé’s impactful social projects that benefit communities.

The panel included Juan Fernandez de la Vega, Head of Procurement for Nestlé Central and West Africa, Max Essoh Latte, Managing Director of Cargill, and Rafael Pirez, Managing Director of Polytank explore topics on sustainability and its future implications for supply chains.

Maria Lovelace Johnson, Director of the FDA's Inspectorate Division, emphasised the importance of food processing standards and the FDA's collaboration with Nestlé to ensure compliance.
Chimatara Anyanwu, Supplier Chain Manager for Nestlé Coastal Cluster, offered insights on optimising processes and elevating supplier expectations.

The event also addressed the need for ethical and sustainable sourcing; essential standards like the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) that suppliers must follow; supplier financing, legal responsibilities, tax compliance, and supply chain quality assurance, reinforcing Nestlé’s commitment to excellence.

The day concluded by highlighting that effective collaboration is crucial for driving innovation and achieving shared goals.
