Anointed Engineering Services Ltd, a Ghanaian electro-mechanical engineering firm specialising in Perkins Diesel Generators, has donated a ‘Borla Macho III’ tricycle to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to support the city’s sanitation improvement drive.
The donation, which was made on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the forecourt of the AMA Head Office near Kinbu, according to the company, forms part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at fostering environmental hygiene and promoting sustainable development in Accra.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Anointed Engineering Services Limited, Mr. Samuel Adjei Boateng, described the tricycle as a “game changer” in waste management, particularly in hard-to-reach areas of the city.

“This morning we are here not to sell a generator but to donate our special product, the Borla Macho III, to the AMA… It’s a one-man-operated tricycle with a hydraulic system that lifts and empties bins, compresses waste internally, and tips at dumping sites without manual contact. It’s the perfect tool for urban sanitation, and we believe, as the city improves with the vision of the AMA; this product can help bring sanity into our sanitation system,” he stated.”
Mr. Boateng admired the sanitation reforms spearheaded by the Mayor of Accra, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, adding that the donation was a tribute to his vision of a cleaner capital.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Assembly, Mayor Allotey expressed heartfelt appreciation for the support from Anointed Engineering Services, highlighting the impact the donation would have on ongoing sanitation operations.

“First of all, we’re very grateful to Anointed Engineering for thinking about the AMA… There’s so much work to do on the streets, and this will go a long way to help the ladies who sweep daily. We’re grateful to Anointed Engineering, and as we have started with them, I hope and pray that this union will continue. This is just the beginning; there are bigger and better things ahead," he said.
The Mayor announced that the Assembly would soon commence a 24-hour city-wide cleaning initiative, with the Borla Macho III tricycle serving as a critical operational tool, and called on other businesses to support the city’s vision.

“This will help us so much because we’re about to start the 24-hour cleanup, and this is just a starting point. We will engage them further to explore how we can help them produce more of these machines,” he said.
“We’re calling on Corporate Ghana to come on board. Cleaning Accra is not a one-man job; it’s not only Anointed Engineering that can help. We need everyone to come on board so that this reset we’ve started in Accra can continue. God bless you and bless Anointed Engineering,” he added.

The Director of Waste Management at AMA, Ing. Solomon Noi, who provided a technical overview of the Borla Macho III tricycle and explained its operational advantages over traditional waste collection methods, also stressed that the tricycle would be particularly useful in densely populated and low-income urban communities where accessibility is a challenge.

“This machine has a 5-cubic metre volume capacity, about 2 metric tons per trip … It’s equipped with a 240-litre and 120-litre bin system that can lift and discharge waste hydraulically and also compress it, reducing the need for multiple trips and minimising physical contact with refuse… We’re doing this to reduce contact with waste, improve hygiene, and increase coverage… If this pilot proves successful, we will recommend scaling it up across the three sub-metros and other municipal assemblies,” he said.
