Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have announced the acceptance of an invitation to play in the 2025 Toyota Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors will face South African side Kaizer Chiefs in this year’s event which is scheduled for next month.
The game according to the club, will form part of their preparations for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup which they secured a slot after winning the MTN FA Cup.
“Asante Kotoko SC is pleased to confirm that we have accepted an invitation to play in this year’s Toyota Cup, where we will face Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in an international friendly,” the club said in a statement published on their website.
The game is set for Monday, 28th July 2025 at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban, South Africa.
“This game is an important step in strengthening the long‑standing relationship between two of the continent’s biggest clubs, and it also forms part of our preparations for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup against a team who will also be participating in the same competition. It will give our team valuable international experience as we build towards a strong campaign in Africa.
The official launch of the Toyota Cup took place today at 10h00 in the Kaizer Chiefs Village,” the release added.
The club, before jetting off to South Africa, will play Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup.
