American actress Schelle Purcell, known for her recent role in Tyler Perry’s Netflix hit Straw, has been honoured by the Relevant Achievers Impacting Nations (RAIN) Foundations during the USA-exclusive edition of the National Youth Shakers Conclave & Awards 2025.
The event, held on Thursday, 19th June in Tuskegee, Alabama, was organised under the auspices of The World Conference of Mayors Inc. and brought together changemakers from across the United States. This year’s theme was Appreciation, Legacy & Succession.
Schelle Purcell was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the creative arts industry. She was one of three high-profile honourees at the event, alongside Dr Muriam Cinevert and Dr Shaneque Metellus.
RAIN’s Founding President, Author Ralph Antwi, announced that the three honourees will visit Ghana in September 2025 to begin legacy projects in collaboration with the foundation. Schelle Purcell’s visit is anticipated to positively impact Ghana’s film industry.

In total, ninety-two individuals received awards across various sectors including health, education, national security, governance, philanthropy, religion, creative arts, business, and innovation and technology.
The National Youth Shakers Conclave & Awards is scheduled to reach 25 countries by the end of the year. The Global Edition, which brings together youth leaders and senior figures making an impact on young lives, is set to take place on 29 November in Texas, USA.
