Ghana's Black Queens are through to the semi-finals of WAFCON 2024, after a 4-2 win over Algeria on penalties.
Saturday's win in Berkane, Morocco, sealed Ghana's ticket to the last four of Africa's premier women's football competition for the first time in nine years.
Kim Lars Bjorkegren made two changes to the starting lineup that faced Tanzania in the final group game, with Doris Boaduwaa returning to the team while Stella Nyamekye was also handed her first start of the competition.
Ghana's first chance of the game came in the 11th minute with Princess Marfo shooting straight into the arms of goalkeeper Chloe N'Gazi.
The former Right to Dream forward was booked just two minutes later for a foul on her marker.
Stella looked to have put the Black Queens in the lead after 27 minutes, but the goal was cancelled following a VAR review, spotting an offside in the build-up to the goal.
From there on, there was no real action in the game with both teams not threatening.
Ghana and Algeria went into the break with no goals in the opening 45 minutes.
After the recess, Doris Boaduwaa had Ghana's first chance at goal, but she was unable to hit the target as the ball drifted wide off the post.
With 19 minutes remaining on the clock, Evelyn Badu replaced Stella Nyamekye as the Black Queens chased the opener.
Princella Adubea also replaced Princess Marfo for the last 10 minutes of the second half.
After 90 minutes, the game still had no goals and no winner, which meant extra time had to be the decider.
The extra 30 minutes were no different from what we had seen all game as the game headed into penalties.
