Veteran Ghanaian musician Nana Acheampong has shared a heartfelt tribute to his friend and music partner, Daddy Lumba, following his passing on Saturday, July 26.
In a Facebook post, Nana Acheampong expressed his grief and shock at the news of Daddy Lumba's death.
"It has been difficult for me to accept this sad news. Menua Kojo Fosu, why this shock?" Nana Acheampong wrote, addressing Daddy Lumba by his real name, Charles Kojo Fosu.
"Hmmm, you have indeed done what the creator brought you on earth to do; you will forever inspire generations."
Nana Acheampong, who formed the legendary Lumba Brothers duo with Daddy Lumba, described his friend as a brother and a legend.
"My family and I are in pain. To the family of my beloved brother, may God hold you tight in this moment," he added, offering condolences to the Fosu family.
The Lumba Brothers, comprising Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba, were a pivotal part of Ghana's highlife music scene in the 1980s and 1990s.

Their collaboration resulted in timeless classics, including the iconic album "Yɛɛyɛ Aka Akwantuo Mu," released in 1989.
Daddy Lumba's passing has sent shockwaves through Ghana's music industry, with fans and fellow musicians mourning the loss of an icon who left an indelible mark with his immeasurable talent.
