The clock is ticking: in just six days, the maiden Digital Assets Summit Africa (DASA) 2025 will open its doors at the Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence.
From 29–30 September 2025, the capital will host policymakers, regulators, banks, fintech leaders, blockchain innovators, and global investors to chart a collective vision for Africa’s digital financial future.
Themed “Unlocking Africa’s Digital Economy Through Innovation & Regulation,” DASA 2025 comes at a pivotal moment. With more than 560 million people globally adopting digital assets and African nations like Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa leading in regulation, Ghana is set to showcase itself as a hub for innovation and policy dialogue.
Exciting Appointment Strengthens DASA Line-Up
Adding prestige to this inaugural edition, organisers announced that Professor Samuel Kobina Annim, Ghana’s former Government Statistician, has been appointed Director of the Africa Centre for Statistics at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
He will join the Summit as a distinguished speaker, addressing the critical role of data and evidence-based policymaking in digital finance regulation and adoption.
“Professor Annim’s new role is a point of pride for Ghana and the continent,” said the DASA Organising Committee. “His participation underscores the importance of Africa not just joining, but leading, the global digital finance conversation.”
Programme Highlights
Delegates can look forward to:
- High-level keynotes from regulators and global thought leaders
- Fireside chats and panel discussions on CBDCs, tokenisation, and cross-border payments
- Startup pitch competition showcasing Africa’s most promising fintechs
- Special focus on women in digital assets and strategies for inclusion
- Networking receptions and private roundtables for policymakers and investors
Spotlight on Startups and Inclusion
Beyond policy and regulation, DASA 2025 will also shine a light on entrepreneurship and inclusion. The Startup Pitch Competition will give small businesses and fintech founders the chance to present their innovations before a panel of experts, with mentorship and service packages awaiting the winner.
A dedicated session on empowering women in digital assets will highlight the importance of gender equity in the rapidly evolving fintech and blockchain ecosystem.
Why DASA Matters
DASA is not just another conference. It is designed as a strategic movement to position Africa at the heart of global digital finance transformation.
The Summit will bridge regulators, traditional financial institutions, and digital innovators, helping to craft frameworks for secure, scalable, and inclusive adoption of digital assets.
