Accra’s only public horse racing course at Borteyman has been destroyed by unknown individuals, reportedly under security protection.
The facility, located next to the Borteyman Sports Complex, has served as one of the key venues for horse racing activities in Accra, making its destruction a significant development for the sport.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Accra Turf Club says it is now seeking a court injunction to stop further activity on the site, as it moves to protect the facility and prevent any additional destruction and takeover.
Stakeholders in Ghana’s horse racing community have expressed concern over the development, warning that the loss of the facility could deal a major blow to the sport in the capital.
