Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, believes the club is in a period of revival and has what it takes to defeat Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors advanced to the second round after edging Nigerian side Kwara United 5-3 on aggregate.
Kotoko secured a 1-0 away win at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium following their thrilling 4-3 victory in Accra.
Kotoko will now face the three-time CAF Champions League winners Wydad.
“We have history against Wydad Athletic Club,” he told Asempa FM.
“We’ve played them twice, and we were just unlucky. For me, this year marks a revival for Asante Kotoko, and I am confident we can overcome WAC.”
The first leg is scheduled for October 17–19, with the return leg set for October 24–26.
