Former Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Dr Eric Oduro Osae, has refuted claims that he has received official correspondence from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
In a statement addressed to the Director-General of GTEC, on Monday, October 27, Dr. Osae said that his attention had been drawn to a purported letter attributed to GTEC, claiming that his terminal degree was invalid and instructing him to desist from using the title “Dr.”
He, however, categorically denied receiving any such correspondence from the Commission.
“I wish to state categorically that I have not received any such letter from your outfit,” he stated.
He further indicated that if such a communication indeed exists, it should be officially delivered to him through the proper administrative channels so he can respond appropriately.
“Should such a communication exist, I respectfully request that it be made available to me through the appropriate official channels, to enable me respond appropriately and take any necessary steps to exercise my rights under the laws of Ghana,” he added.
Mr. Osae emphasised that, as a lawyer and a firm believer in the rule of law, he will take all lawful steps to protect his rights .
He also expressed his continued support for GTEC in carrying out its statutory duties, but maintained that he would not hesitate to defend his rights in court if necessary.
“While I continue to support the GTEC in fulfilling its statutory mandate, I will not hesitate to defend my rights before any court of competent jurisdiction should the need arise,” he cautioned.
