The Amedzofe Canopy Walkway in the Volta Region has been temporarily shut down following an incident on Wednesday involving one of the small exit pillars that supports a section of the structure.
In a statement, management of the popular ecotourism site announced that the closure is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring visitor safety while a full investigation and structural assessment are carried out.
According to officials, a combined team of local and international engineers has been deployed to examine the affected pillar, evaluate the overall integrity of the walkway, and recommend the next steps required to restore the facility to safe operational standards.
“The walkway will remain closed until all safety requirements have been fully met and the structure is declared completely secure for public use,” management said in a statement.

Management expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and extended appreciation to tourists, tour operators, and community partners for their patience and understanding.
“Your safety remains our highest priority,” the statement added.
